Job summary

The School District of Lee County is seeking an Instructional Support (Physical Education) at Gateway Elementary School in Fort Myers, FL. • Work with the teacher to reinforce positive learning and behavior patterns among students.
• Assist students in the development of study skills and achievement of instructional objectives.
• Support parental involvement activities.
• Demonstrate understanding and respect of individual student culture and interests.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with laws concerning student information.
• Perform related clerical and recordkeeping duties as directed.
• Adhere to safety procedures.
• Provide support in a computer laboratory, library/media center, and/or other learning facilities.
• Assist in implementation of a student’s IEP.
• Act as a translator if able and appropriate.
• Monitor student behavior/activity in cafeteria and campus locations with staff support.
• Perform Medicaid administrative claims reimbursable activities as directed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; organizational and management skills.
• Knowledge of general policies and procedures for the functional area of assignment.

• Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, practices, computers, and applications.
• Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance.
