Job summary

Burnet CISD is seeking an instructional assistant to provide support under a certified teacher's supervision for the 2026-2027 school year. You will help with classroom activities, organize materials, and support student learning.

Required qualifications include an Associate's degree or equivalent, a Texas educational aide certificate (or within 30 days of hire), and strong communication skills to work with staff, students and the public.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or two years of college and valid Texas educational aide certificate (or within 30 days of hire).
• Ability to assist in reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies.
• Strong communication skills and positive collaboration with staff, students, and public.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students under the direction of a certified teacher.
• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist teacher with administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist with supervision of students throughout the school day, inside and outside classroom.
• Inform teachers and administration of special needs or problems for individual students.
• Assist and oversee student academics and behavior management during disciplinary sessions.
• Participate in staff development and meetings as assigned.
• Assist with clerical needs with other staff as needed.
• Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
• Maintain confidentiality of all student and special education information.
• Maintain positive relations with students and parents.
