Job summary

Modesto City Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional to support preschool students. Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED, at least six months working with preschoolers, and twelve units of Child Development or Early Childhood Education core units.

One of the following is required: Associate Teacher Child Development Permit or higher, Child Development Associate Certification, or enrollment in a program to obtain either associate or bachelor degree within two years of hire.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience working with preschool age students.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must possess one of: Associate Teacher Child Development Permit or higher, Child Development Associate Certification, or be enrolled in a program to obtain an associate or bachelors degree within 2 years.
• NCLB Compliance: attach Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate and Child Development Teacher Permit OR higher permit or Child Development Associate Certificate.
• Immunization proof required (Influenza, TDaP, measles) upon hire.

Job description

Six (6) months experience working with preschool age students; High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate or California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE). Twelve (12) units of Child Development OR Early Childhood Education core units. Instructional Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate, Must possess one of the following: Active Associate Teacher Child Development Permit or higher level permit, Child Development Associate Certification, Be enrolled in a program that will lead to an associate of baccalaureate degree or Be enrolled in a Child Development Associate credential program to be completed within two (2) years of the time of hire and ensure to meet the state licensing staff qualification requirements.

• Certification (All applicants must submit a copy of twelve (12) units of Early Childhood Education core units OR Associate Teacher Child Development Permit.)
• NCLB Compliance (Attach Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate and Child Development Teacher Permit OR higher level permit or Child Development Associates Cerfificate)
• You will be required to submit upon hire proof of Influenza (flu), Pertussis (TDaP), and measles (MMR) immunizations. All applicants must be considered for an interview.
