Overview

The Instructional Designer develops online curriculum while employing working knowledge of current technologies, to create high-quality, engaging, interactive, and effective e-learning products.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • Must be a resident of Illinois or Indiana.
  • Two years of professional experience in instructional design.
  • Proficiency with video editing software such as Camtasia, Adobe Premiere, iMovie, or similar.
  • Experience with Articulate Rise (required) and Storyline (preferred).
  • Strong skills in PowerPoint for course content and visual design.
  • Basic graphic design and multimedia skills (MS Office design tools sufficient; Adobe Creative Cloud a plus).
  • Ability to transform technical or complex information into clear, engaging learning materials.
  • Strong writing and editing skills for course content and scripts.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially with formatting and version control.
  • Clear communication skills for working with trainers and the instructional team.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility to work on an as needed basis during normal office hours.
  • While the position is remote, must reside within the state of Illinois.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Instructional Design, educational technology or closely related field.
  • Three or more years of professional experience in online instructional design.
  • Two years of work experience with the Learning Management System, Canvas.
Job Details

Worksite: Remote. Status: Temporary (Appointment ends June 30, 2026). Hours: 37.5 hours per week.

Starting Wage: $38.46 – $43.59 per hour.
