Job summary

O’Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Instructional Designer to identify learning needs across the organization and craft engaging training plans. You will manage the content development lifecycle, collaborating with SMEs, designers, and leadership to deliver effective materials that align with business goals.

Responsibilities include creating storyboards, scripts, and updated training assets, while maintaining quality and ensuring materials stay current with operations and process changes.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ operational experience with O’Reilly stores and distribution centers.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong documentation skills for training materials.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, e-Learning tools.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and leads meetings with SMEs to identify learning needs.
• Develops Key Learning Points (KLPs) based on learning objectives.
• Creates targeted questions aligned with learning objectives.
• Translates learning objectives into a storyboard for content creation.
• Ensures storyboard aligns with instructional goals and quality standards.
• Collects and manages media and learning assets for content development.
• Drafts the final script ensuring concise, engaging content.
• Updates documents and questions with leadership input as needed.
• Proactively researches impact of business changes on learning materials.
• Maintains ongoing communication with leadership and escalates scope changes.
• Documents work processes and decisions for future reference.
• Regularly updates training course images, scripts, and materials.
• Audits and updates files to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborates with SMEs to ensure learning goals are met.
• Recommends enhancements to learning formats for engagement.
• Works with training metrics to ensure objectives are met.
• Supports strategic planning of topic documentation and tracking.
• Reviews requested edits to maintain content integrity.
• Participates in audio/video productions as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.
