Purpose Of Position

To provide support and assistance to all classroom teachers in the implementation of ISANA program goals.

Responsibilities & Duties
Instructional Coaching and Development
  • Modeling
  • Collaborating, Co‑planning, and Co‑teaching with the purpose of coaching the teacher
  • Conducting observations and providing descriptive feedback based on teacher observation
Instructional Supporter
  • Developing, implementing, and analyzing assessments for learning
  • English Learner Development
  • Infusing culturally relevant teaching strategies and scaffolding for diverse learners
  • Identifying reading and math difficulties and planning appropriate intervention and accommodation strategies for all students
  • Effectively implementing Principles of Learning, Project Based Learning, and Culturally Relevant and Responsive Education
Curriculum and Content Facilitator
  • Monitoring implementation of instructional program through adopted curricula and other instructional resources
  • Assisting teachers with curriculum and pacing of instructional programs
  • Guiding teachers in understanding and effectively teaching applicable state standards
  • Creating and completing curriculum and instruction related documents and facilitating assessments
Data Coach
  • Collaborating with teachers to analyze formative and summative student achievement data
  • Guiding teachers in using data to improve student learning
Facilitator for Change
  • Fostering a safe, trusting environment for teachers
  • Demonstrating excellent listening and professional communication skills
Continuous Learner
  • Engaging in professional development opportunities and professional reading
  • Practicing and reflecting on what is learned
Professional Learning Facilitator
  • Providing professional development school- and organization-wide
  • Planning, facilitating, and attending grade level meetings
  • Facilitating other forms of professional development (e.g., coordinating for other/outside presenters)
Resource
  • Identifying instructional and assessment resources requested by teachers
  • Sharing research and instructional best practices
School Leader
  • Participating in a cooperative effort with faculty and staff to plan, implement, and evaluate programs of continuing school improvement
  • Maintaining professional relationships between school and parents
  • Coaching teachers in planning and conducting informational meetings for parents to assist them in understanding instructional materials and student progress
  • Working with administrators and instructional teams to plan and implement hands‑on programs and activities for students and the school
  • Following federal and state laws, as well as the letter and spirit of the Charter and Governing Board policies and directives from the Principal/Designee
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • California Teaching Credential; CLAD or BCLAD
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience at the elementary or secondary level
  • Experience in collaborative planning and delivery of differentiated staff development to classroom practitioners; literacy training; knowledge of differentiated instructional practices that promote student academic success; knowledge and understanding of the needs of a diverse student population
Physical And Environmental Elements

This position may include long periods of sitting or standing in an environment with moderate noise levels, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. The role frequently requires standing, sitting, walking, using hands and fingers, and reaching with arms. Specific vision abilities required include close vision to read printed materials and a computer screen with ability to adjust focus. Communication skills required include the ability to hear and speak. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, typewriter keyboard, or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes, and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information and lifts and carries items that typically weigh less than 20 pounds. The position requires the ability to travel by train, plane, or other means both inside and outside of the Los Angeles area. May have occasional exposure to irate parents, staff, and public and private representatives.

Signing Bonus Notice

This position is eligible for a signing bonus, paid in two installments in January and July, contingent upon active employment with ISANA on the payment date. Eligibility for each installment requires active employment at the payment date. Signing bonuses may be prorated based on start date or unpaid leave status and are subject to applicable taxes. Employees who separate from ISANA prior to the end of a bonus period will not be eligible for that installment.

Pay Range Notice

The posted pay range represents the full range for this classified position. Final placement is contingent upon verification of prior experience through completion of the required Verification of Experience (VOE) form. Credit for prior experience requires having worked at least 85% of the applicable employment period.
