Job summary

Queen Creek Unified School District is seeking a HQ Paraprofessional to support teachers and students in a school setting. The role includes supervising groups of students, following site procedures, and assisting with instructional activities.

Qualifications include a 60 college credit hours or ParaPro Exam, English proficiency, and a background clearance. The position offers part-time hours (29 per week) and is governed by QCUSD salary schedules.

Qualifications

  • Must have HQ Paraprofessional status or pass ParaPro Exam.
  • Able to monitor and supervise small and large groups of students positively.
  • Able to follow directions and school procedures from Principal and staff.
  • Able to operate general office machines.
  • Able to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Effective communicator and team player.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all policies and rules.
  • Must read, write and speak English.
  • First Aid and/or CPR certification preferred.
  • Experience with elementary level students preferred.
  • Must pass a background clearance and obtain AZ IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with individual or small group instruction under supervision.
  • Support enrichment and remedial work for the classroom.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics.
  • Participate in in-service training as required.
  • Demonstrate positive problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • Adhere to dress code requirements.
  • Assist with supervision during drills and assemblies.
  • Be flexible and assist with evaluation of student progress as directed.
  • Perform other duties to advance district priorities.

29 hours per week Monday - Friday 7:45 - 2:15

CLASSIFICATION

Performance Responsibilities

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Works with individual students or groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the reading or math interventionist.
  • Assists independent study, enrichment work and remedial work for the classroom.
  • Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as is expected of teachers.
  • Participates in in-service training programs as required.
  • Exercises positive problem solving behavior and conflict resolution skills.
  • Adheres to the dress code appropriate for the site and job.
  • Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, and assemblies.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer being employed.
  • Be flexible
  • Assists the teacher with evaluation of student progress in relations to established educational objectives.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned to advance district priorities.
