San Juan Unified School District seeks a part-time Secondary Elementary Instructional Assistant at Barrett Middle School. This calendar 18B role runs 9 months/year, 206 days/year, 5 days/week with a 6-hour workday from 7:45 AM to 2:15 PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Instructional Assistant IIIs support our severe/emotionally disturbed students. We are looking for candidates with any combination of experience and training which provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties.
• Severe/Emotionally Disturbed - working with students who have a Learning Handicap or Communicatively Handicap programs. Students designated as an emotionally disturbed (ED) class or an autism class or assigned to a Behaviorist to assist individual students. Experience working with groups of children; experience working with impaired children or adults highly desirable; coursework in child development highly desirable. • In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license.
• Passing CBEST or IA Proficiency Test is required, regardless of educational background.
