Murray Independent Schools MISD - Murray Elementary in Murray, Kentucky seeks an Instructional Assistant - Level II to support a certified teacher in delivering instruction to individuals or small groups. You will monitor student progress and help maintain a positive learning environment.

The role emphasizes assisting with classroom activities, documenting progress, and providing emotional support for students. Starting date is immediate with a wage of $14.03 to $19.23 per hour.

Qualifications

• Shall have a working knowledge of computers.
• Must be chosen with reference to personal, educational, physical, moral and emotional fitness.
• Shall demonstrate the ability to communicate and work effectively with students, peer, parents and faculty.
• Shall have a high school diploma, GED Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a GED as required by Kentucky law.
• Shall meet Highly Qualified Criteria for paraprofessionals.

Responsibilities

• Tutor individuals or small groups as directed by the teacher.
• Participate as a member of an instructional team including remediation efforts.
• Prepare and organize lessons; administer and score tests; assist in determining proficiency.
• Assist in administering diagnostic tests; score and record results.
• Monitor and report student behavior; maintain confidentiality of student records.
• Perform clerical duties; operate classroom equipment; maintain records and attendance.
