ReNEW Schools is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support students academically and socially. This role involves assisting with classroom activities and managing behaviors while working under the direction of the Classroom Teacher.
Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, previous experience with students, and the ability to communicate effectively. The position requires physical ability to assist students and manage classroom tasks.
Immediate Supervisor: Classroom Teacher
To assist students with academics and social activities, manage behavior, and assist the classroom teacher as directed. These duties include, but are not limited to, those listed below.
Previous experience working with students; positive employment history; and recommendations from an individual(s) in an administrative position.

Ability to read and interpret textbooks and/or teacher guides, student IEPs, Behavior Plans, procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of children, parents or employees of the school organization.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts appropriate to the students' grade level. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
