Job summary

Queen Creek Unified School District in Arizona is seeking a cafeteria aide to supervise students during lunch periods and help maintain a safe, orderly environment in the cafeteria and playground. You will assist with supervising students and promoting healthy eating habits while interacting with students, staff and the community.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), ability to follow directions, and a patient, cooperative approach.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to monitor and supervise small and large groups of students in a positive manner.
  • Ability to follow directions and school procedures from Principal and designated staff.
  • Effective communicator and work cooperatively with others.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all policies, regulations and rules.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Prefer First Aid and/or CPR certification.
  • Must pass a background clearance
  • Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

Responsibilities

  • Supervise students and assist in the cafeteria during lunch and/or recess.
  • Accept responsibility for students well being and safety, as the fundamental value in decision making, while they are in employee's care.
  • Provide excellent customer service skills to students, employees and community.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with children in a patient, friendly, and enthusiastic manner.
  • Demonstrate interest in the nutrition and enthusiasm for school lunch menu items.
  • Encourage and support healthy eating during lunch through interaction with students.
  • Regulate and assist student traffic in an efficient, orderly manner.
  • Prevent and subdue disorderly behavior, refer disciple problems to the administrator.
  • Oversee that children clear tables and dispose of trash in proper receptacles.
  • Wipe and sanitize all tables before, during and after each lunch period. Assist in cleaning the floor.
  • Perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned to advance district priorities.]

JOB GOAL

12.5hours per week - Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays: 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.; Wednesdays and early release days:10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
