Definition

The Instructional Aide is responsible for supporting the principal and teaching staff by performing a variety of duties that enhance the educational experience and overall operation of the classroom and/or campus.

Responsibilities

• Proctor assessments for students with Learning Services in need of testing accommodations. Assist with coordination of test proctoring.
• Assist teaching staff in the instructional needs of students, working both in the classroom with the teachers and students as needed to ensure their maximum academic development.
• Support other staff with clerical duties, including faxing, copying, and internal deliveries, as needed.
• Provide general campus support as directed by the principal, including cafeteria supervision, among other duties.
• Safeguard confidential records and inquire in a professional manner.
• Collaborate with colleagues to promote positive teamwork.
• Recommend measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of services, and suggest changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.
• Supervise students during transitions between classes and special events as needed. Ensuring the health and safety of students, equipment and facilities by implementing appropriate precautions
• Represent Xavier Catholic Schools professionally in interactions with stakeholders, including parents, community members, staff and students.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• First Aide/CPR/AED Certification, or willing to obtain certification upon hire
