Job summary

The Iowa State University Library invites applications for an Instruction Librarian I to join its Instruction Unit. This role collaborates with the instruction team to coordinate and teach the undergraduate information literacy course, and helps deliver workshops on information literacy, AI literacy, and research skills.

Responsibilities include co-managing the course LMS (Canvas), coordinating LibGuides, developing learning materials, ensuring digital accessibility, and evaluating instructional

Qualifications

• Master’s degree is required.
• Experience teaching information literacy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach the library’s credit bearing information literacy course for undergraduate students.
• Coordinate and centrally manage the undergraduate information literacy course in collaboration with the instruction team.
• Develop content and learning materials for information literacy courses.
• Ensure digital accessibility of course materials.
• Co-manage the course learning management system (Canvas).
• Coordinate LibGuides and support librarians in using LibGuides.
• Develop guides, tutorials, and learning modules for AI literacy, information literacy, and research skills.
• Contribute to evaluation of instruction programs and provide improvement recommendations.
