Job summary

The Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC) is seeking a Grants Manager & Advancement Officer to lead CLINIC’s institutional grants program and support selected individual giving and major gift initiatives.

The role oversees the full grant lifecycle, from prospect research to final closeout, ensuring compliant, funder-ready proposals and reports. As a key liaison across Advancement, Finance, Programs, and Executive Leadership, you will develop narratives, manage budgets, and diversify

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience.
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in grant writing, grants management, institutional fundraising, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated success managing complex foundation, corporate, government, and other institutional grants across the full lifecycle.
• Experience developing grant budgets and interpreting grant agreements, funding requirements, budgets, and financial reports.
• Experience cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors and supporting major gift fundraising.
• Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, research, and analytical skills.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects and deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across Finance, Programs, Advancement, and Executive Leadership.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of proposals, letters of intent, concept papers, renewal requests, and institutional submissions.
• Translate program information into clear, persuasive narratives tailored to funder requirements.
• Manage proposal schedules, reviews, approvals, and collection of materials.
• Ensure submissions are accurate, timely, compliant; maintain reusable content.
• Lead preparation of interim, annual, final reports and other requirements.
• Create outcome narratives, impact stories, and renewal materials.
• Serve as a primary grants liaison among key departments and leadership.
• Lead grant planning, kickoff, reporting, and closeout meetings.
• Coordinate post-award administration with Finance and programs teams.
• Monitor grant spending and budget utilization; review financial reports.
• Maintain grant records, dashboards, calendars, templates, and CRM data.
• Maintain donor profiles, executive briefs, talking points, and follow-up communications.
