Job summary

Northern Trust is hiring an entry level analyst to support NAV calculation and fund valuation for large ERISA plans. You will work under supervision on mutual and managed funds, auditing cash and corporate actions to ensure accurate daily valuations.

The role emphasizes accuracy, analytical thinking, and timely reporting, with heavy focus on Excel proficiency and data handling. A business degree with relevant fund accounting exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related fund accounting experience.
• Experience in mutual fund accounting and portfolio valuation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Determine Net Asset Value (NAV) for defined contribution and defined benefit plans daily.
• Evaluate and reconcile funds (mutual, separately managed, commingled, etc.) vs benchmarks.
• Analyze impact of transactions, income positions, accruals, and corporate actions.
• Audit and resolve exceptions on assigned accounts per procedures and timelines.
• Assist in timely preparation of monthly and annual reports and statements.
• Record and respond to client inquiries and resolve account exceptions.
