Morgan Stanley seeks an Institutional Consulting Associate on the Graystone Team to be the first contact for institutional clients and to partner with the ICD/team to deliver a consistently excellent client experience.

Responsibilities include cultivating relationships, supporting client service across meetings, preparing reports, and aiding in business development while maintaining current licenses and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a field relevant to the position.
  • Four-year college degree or professional certification preferred.
  • Active Series 7 (GS), and Series 66 (AG/RA) or Series 63 (AG) and Series 65 (RA) required.
  • Additional product licenses may be required.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Institutional Consulting Associate on the Graystone Team is often the first point of contact withclients on a broad array of services. As senior members of the service team, through regular interactionswith clients, individuals in this role build trusted relationships. Leading with a client first mindset, asuccessful candidate for this role will have strong interpersonal skills and their focus will be on deliveringan exceptional client experience. The Institutional Consulting Associate partners with the InstitutionalConsulting Director (ICD)/team to address the specific needs and service issues of clients to provide aconsistent and positive experience.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Service:
  • Cultivating relationships with business partners and colleagues internally and externally
  • Supporting the ICD/team in enhancing new and existing institutional clients by providing anexceptional client experience
  • Assisting the ICD/team in delivering against their client service model, including preparing forregular meetings and tracking follow-ups
  • Ensuring all client service functions are performed in a timely manner, assigning work to teammembers on a daily basis if/as needed
  • Providing backup coverage for traditional registered or unregistered Client Service Associateresponsibilities at the request of the client and/or ICD/team, such as executing money movementtransactions, answering general non-investment related questions concerning client accounts,educating or enrolling clients in digital tools (e.g., MS Online), accepting or entering unsolicited
  • orders and/or entering solicited orders in a clerical capacity
  • Remaining current on all policies, procedures and new platforms and shares reminders and bestpractices with other service team members
Business Development Support:
  • Assisting the ICD/team in organizing around and executing against their business plan, partneringclosely with other market stakeholders such as Practice Strategy Consultants and BranchManagement
  • At the direction of ICD/team, executes against all administrative elements of digital and in-personmarketing strategies including conferences and seminars or webinars, websites, social media andregular email connectivity
  • At the request of the client and/or ICD/team, preparing and reviewing various client reports orfinancial plans from firm-approved systems for existing or prospective clients
  • At the request of the client and/or ICD/team, assisting with research using firm-approved systems
  • At the request of ICD/team, participating in existing client and/or prospective client meetings andseminars, representing the service lens
  • Participating in firm initiatives (e.g., training or education programs), special projects and/or otherduties directed by local management
  • Participating in quarterly/annual business performance reviews with the ICD/team
  • Coordinating enrollment campaign materials and scheduling meetings for institutional investors
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS:
Education and/or Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a field relevant to the position required
  • Four-year college degree or professional certification preferred
  • Active Series 7 (GS), and Series 66 (AG/RA) or Series 63 (AG) and Series 65 (RA) required

Knowledge/Skills
  • Knowledge of financial services industry and investment products
  • Technically proficient and quick learner of new and updated platforms

  • Expert knowledge of basic personal computer, MS Office (particularly MS Excel) and internetapplications
  • Exceptional writing, interpersonal and client service skills
