Job summary

Centraprise in Phoenix, AZ seeks an Application Packaging Specialist with InstallShield to lead enterprise packaging efforts. You will convert legacy setups to MSI/MSIX, craft installs with custom actions, and work with developers to meet deployment requirements.

Responsibilities include creating advanced installer packages, designing UI for Suite/Advanced UI projects, and validating installers through thorough testing across environments.

Qualifications

• Mandatory hands-on experience with InstallShield.
• Experience with MSI packaging, transforms (MST) and Windows Installer technology.
• Knowledge of Install Script and custom actions (VBScript, PowerShell).
• Experience with application virtualization (MSIX).
• Understanding of Windows OS internals, registry, and file system.
• Knowledge of silent installation switches and packaging standards.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Proficient in PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Experience testing and troubleshooting packaged applications in InstallShield.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Relevant certifications in Microsoft technologies or IT service management.
• Convert legacy installations (EXE, scripts) into MSI/MSIX packages.
• Customize installations using InstallShield scripting, custom actions, and transforms (MSTs).
• Perform packaging for enterprise deployment using InstallShield tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain installer packages (.msi, .exe, .msp) for enterprise deployment.
• Create advanced installer packages using Suite/Advanced UI Project and integrate third-party components.
• Design wizard-based UI for Suite/Advanced UI projects.
• Develop and execute test cases for installers, including fresh installs, upgrades, silent installs, and bundled dependencies.
• Coordinate with developers and infrastructure teams to ensure deployment requirements are met.
• Review dependencies, prerequisites, upgrade behavior, and rollback needs.
• Document packaging standards and best practices; ensure OS compatibility and package robustness.
