Unlimited Technologies, a premier security contractor, is hiring a Full-Time Security Installation Technician to plan and perform security system installs, maintenance, troubleshooting, and project coordination at client sites. The role emphasizes independent work, effective communication with the Project Manager, and strong attention to safety and quality standards.

Duties include installing access control and IP cameras, wiring and configuring devices, reading drawings, and providing updates

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of field installation experience in security.
• Knowledge of intrusion, access control, and assessment systems.

Responsibilities

• Install Access Control and IP camera systems according to engineered drawings.
• Identify and resolve issues affecting productivity.
• Complete all necessary job tickets and paperwork.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment at all times.
• Communicate activity to Project Manager or Field Supervisor promptly.
• Provide direction during system installations and lead field teams.
• Install and program Alarm, Access Control, and IP video systems.
• Test, troubleshoot and perform necessary corrections to security systems.

TheInstallation Technicianwill plan and perform security system installations, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and demolition tasks. Security systems include access control systems, burglar alarm systems, IP Cameras and other electronic and physical security systems.The Technician- Responsible for managing all aspects of access control and IP camera products and systems installed at client sites. The Technician must be able to independently install, program, troubleshoot and perform maintenance on electronic devices, power supplies and all network components. S/He will need communicate effectively with the Project Manager and present a knowledgeable and engaging image to customers. The Technician must be a self-starter who can make sound decisions that are in the best interest of the project, the customer, and Unlimited Technology. Further, the Technician must be able to learn UT’s device monitoring/management methodologies. S/He must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to work closely with subcontractors and customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Technician, the successful candidate will need to be hard-working, detail-oriented, highly organized and able to work independently to maintain security hardware in the client’s and Unlimited Technology’s best interests.

• Install Access Control and IP cameras systems according to engineered drawings.
• Must be able to identify and resolve issues that would have a negative impact on job productivity.
• Thoroughly complete all necessary paperwork relating to job tickets.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment always.
• Communicate all activity to the job Project Manager or Field Supervisor in a timely manner.
• Maintain the condition and cleanliness of any company provided vehicle.
• Maintain a safe driving record and report any incidents or near misses to management immediately.
• Attend any product or safety training that is required
• Read and understand drawings and equipment schematics.
• Provide direction and leadership for system installations.
• Install and program Alarm (Intrusion), Access Control, IP video systems.
• Provide updates to project manager and customers.
• Test, troubleshoot and preform necessary corrections to security system.

Requirements

• High school diploma or state-recognized equivalent
• Minimum 3-5 years of field installation experience in the security environment.
• Knowledgeable of security equipment systems (i.e., intrusion detection, assessment, and access control).
• Capable of installing and maintaining various alarms, access control, and assessment system devices.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, work extended hours, and travel independently.
• Certifications in Lenel/Software House access control preferred
• Certifications in American Dynamics, Genetec, Exacq preferred
• Experienced in the installation of door hardware such as strikes and magnetic locks.
• Experience troubleshooting network switches.
• Experienced in reading and comprehending engineered drawings.
• Experienced in the marking up, or “red lining” of drawings post install.
• Ability to obtain required state low-voltage/security licenses as required
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work well and interact with other UT employees as well as UT customers.
• Strong work ethic and teamwork; “can do” attitude and desire to provide best service. Strong interpersonal and communicative Skills.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision; must be a self-starter and quick learner.
