Job summary

Techmenity in New York, NY is seeking an Installation Technician to perform on-site installation, setup, and configuration of security, surveillance, and access control systems for Metro NY projects.

You will work in-person (not remote) at our office on 119 West 23rd Street and on project sites, reporting to the Low-Voltage Foreman. A hands-on, field-focused candidate with construction-site experience and cabling skills is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience on construction sites and ability to climb ladders.
• Ability to pull cabling and use power/tools safely.
• Experience with access control and surveillance platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, setup, and configure security, surveillance, and access control systems on site.
• Pull/terminate/test low-voltage cabling and mount devices.
• Setup, configure, and program devices; troubleshoot as needed.
• Read and follow project plan sets; understand network concepts.

Installation Technician - Access Control & CCTV

Department: Technician

Location: New York, NY (Techmenity)

Reporting To: Low-Voltage Foreman

Compensation: $35.00 - $50.00 / hour

Description

Responsible for successful installation, setup, and configuration of security, surveillance, and access control systems. Focused on delivering on company standards, every time, based on Techmenity’s company principles document.

You Are:

• A trustworthy individual. Hungry to learn and grow. Hands-on and love being in the field as opposed to being behind a desk. Technically inclined and always curious how things work.

You Have:

• Experience on construction sites. Ability to climb ladders, pull cabling, use power tools & hand tools. A steady work history (3yrs between hops), a pleasant disposition, Hiqh EQ.

Your Location:

• In-Person (Not Remote or Hybrid)

Your Schedule:

• Hours Per Week: 40 Hours Per Week
• Days Per Week: Monday to Friday (8am-4pm)

Your Contribution to Techmenity:

• On-site installations of surveillance and access control systems (door access, intercoms, credential readers, electric strikes, and maglocks).
• Pull/Terminate/Test Low-Voltage Cabling
• Mount devices at the ends of those wires
• Setup, configuration, and programming of devices
• Troubleshooting of devices
• Understanding of networks
• Read and follow plan sets

Ideal Qualifications:

• Industry Certifications: CompTIA A+, AVIXA CTS, OSHA 10
• Access Control Knowledge: Brivo, Verkada, Avigilon Alta/Openpath, Lenel, Kisi, ButterflyMX
• Experience with surveillance platforms and IP camera systems
