Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an Installation Technician to join our DirectAIR projects. You will read blueprints, install piping systems, air compressors, and related equipment, and collaborate with outside contractors to complete modules.

Most work is Monday through Friday with 65–85% travel and a company-provided vehicle. You’ll gain hands-on experience with industry-leading equipment while joining a supportive team that values quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics.

About this role

Competitive Pay:

This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $25.00 /hr. to $30.00 /hr., depending on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do

As part of our installation team, you'll play a key role in setting up our DirectAIR sites. Your responsibilities include:

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
• Collaborating with outside contractors to complete modules efficiently.
• Installing piping systems, air compressors, and associated equipment.
• Mounting dampers, ductwork, and compressor accessories.
• Cutting and installing prefabricated wall and roof panels per drawings.
• Trimming openings, doors, and roofs.
• Installing condensate tubing systems.
• Finishing concrete floors and bases.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Delivering top-notch customer service and professionalism to customers, vendors, and coworkers.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

• Mechanical aptitude - if you have the ability and interest, we'll provide training and help you develop your skills.
• Experience using tape measures, hand tools, and power tools (preferred but not required).
• Ability to read drawings and schematics (or willingness to learn).
• Willingness to travel (approximately 65-85% travel required).
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends when needed.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
