Job summary

Poyant Signs Inc. seeks Installation Technicians to install and service signage across the Northeast. You will work as part of a two-person crew, handling signs, tools, and materials to deliver high-quality installations on time.

You must read and follow Sign Plans, operate hand and power tools, and adhere to strict safety standards. Training, licensing opportunities, and professional development are provided.

Qualifications

• Two years of related field experience in sign installation or construction.
• Ability to read and interpret Sign Plans for accurate placement.
• Capable of lifting, climbing and outdoor work in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Transport signs, tools, and materials to job sites safely.
• Set up sites with safe perimeters and prepare surfaces for installation.
• Read Sign Plans and install all sign elements per plan.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain clean worksites.
• Operate tools safely and maintain equipment per policy.
• Document daily progress and maintain required licenses.

Job Details: Job Location: NEW BEDFORD, MA 02745, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $26.00 - $35.00 Hourly, Poyant Signs is a fourth generation, family business founded in 1938 specializing in supporting local, regional and national brands throughout the Northeast. Our Installation Technicians work independently (typically as a two-man crew assigned to their own custom installation crane truck), enjoy working outdoors, are hands-on, mechanically inclined, construction-minded, and safety conscious. • Successfully transport all signage, tools, hardware, and materials to the job-site location safely.
• Prepare the site for installation by setting up a secure safety perimeter, removing old signage (if required), and prepare the surface or structure for new signage.
• Read and understand the Sign Plan, able to effectively measure, place, and install all sign elements of the project according to the Sign Plan.
• Perform the work in accordance with all safety protocols.
• Clear debris and materials from the site after each installation.
• Clear debris and materials from company vehicles after each installation.
• Perform maintenance and repairs to signs, as needed.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment in accordance with company and safety protocols.
• Maintain all necessary communication with the Project Coordinator, and Director of Operations during the course of the installation of the project.
• Complete required daily documentation.
• Obtain and maintain all required licenses in a timely manner as set forth by the company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years' experience in a related field (Sign Installation Technician, Electrical Apprentice, General Construction, Landscaping).
• Valid CDL, Class B, or ability to obtain one. A clean driving record is a must.
• Massachusetts & Rhode Island Sign Crane Licenses are a plus.
• Knowledge of electrical wiring, metal fabrication and welding are a plus.
• A sound understanding or ability to learn of the applicable installation methods, materials, and safety measures.
• The ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Physically fit and able to perform strenuous labor including lifting and climbing.
• Able to work at various heights in the air (from a ladder, crane, personnel lift) without concern.
• The ability to work in harsh weather conditions as needed.
• Willingness to work during evenings, weekends, and overnights (including per diem) as needed.
