Job summary

FASTSIGNS of Akron is seeking an Installation Specialist dedicated to owning the field side of our business. You will lead on-site sign installations, operate the install truck, and ensure equipment is ready for use.

This role requires taking pride in doing it right the first time and handling greater responsibility than a helper role. Key duties include leading on-site installs, coordinating with sales on quotes, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Some experience with sign installation, construction, or skilled trades.
• Comfortable with power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and hydraulic lifts.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Mechanically inclined with a knack for fixing equipment.
• Organized, reliable, and professional with customers.
• Able to manage several projects at once.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site installation of signs including channel letters, cabinets, panel signs, and similar with light electrical work.
• Conduct advance site visits and relay needs for quoting and fabrication.
• Collaborate with sales to estimate labor time and set realistic deadlines; keep customers informed.
• Work with management to follow the installation schedule and meet commitments.
• Perform quality checks to ensure installations are correct and complete.
• Operate the installation truck/van and perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Follow safety practices and operate tools safely.
• Track installation inventory and flag reorder needs.
• Assist with sign production and shop upkeep when possible.

Installation Specialist, Full Time

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced installer who wants to own the field side of our business, not ride along on it. You’ll run installs from site visit to final walkthrough, operate our install truck, and be the person responsible for keeping our installation equipment ready to go. If you take pride in doing it right the first time and want more responsibility than a helper role offers, we want to talk to you.

What you’ll do

1. Lead on-site installation of various signs including channel letters, cabinets, panel signs and others including light electrical work.
2. Perform advance site visits and relay what production and sales need for accurate quoting and fabrication.
3. Work with sales to estimate labor time and set realistic deadlines, and keep customers and staff informed as projects move.
4. Work with management on the installation schedule and meet the commitments in it.
5. Conduct quality checks so every job is installed correctly and completely.
6. Operate the company installation truck, van/lift and handle routine maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles and installation equipment.
7. Follow industry safety practices and operate all tools and equipment safely.
8. Track installation inventory and flag reorder needs.
9. Pitch in with sign production, material handling, and shop upkeep when the schedule allows.
