Job summary

Daifuku Intralogistics America Corporation seeks an Installation Quality Control Specialist I to support planning, installation, and testing of automated material handling systems. The role involves on-site validation, audits, and collaboration with the project team.

Expect 90% travel, 12-hour shifts on construction sites, and a high school diploma; basic knowledge of Allen-Bradley controls, CAD drawings, and industrial automation is preferred.

Qualifications

• Audits activities and develops punch lists for electrical/mechanical contractors during installation and close-out.
• Inspects electrical/mechanical installation to ensure equipment matches engineering plans.
• Executes on-site checkout and testing after controls implementation for turnover to customer.
• Prepares daily site reports and documentation during on-site execution.
• Inspects and tests PLCs to ensure automated equipment meets project scope.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute site reports and commissioning documentation.

Job Summary

An Installaation Quality Control Specialist I, provides expertise and develops solutions to electrical and mechanical technical problems during the planning, installation, and final testing phases of an automated material handling project.

• Audits activities and develops punch lists of electrical/mechanical contractors during and at close out of installation; develops electrical/mechanical check lists for on-site installation progression and pre-volume testing phases
• Inspects electrical/mechanical installation to ensure that equipment and parts are complete and operational according to engineering plans
• Executes on-site checkout and testing after controls implementation in preparation for turnover to customer; ensures systems are fully functional and meet the description of operation
• Prepares and distributes daily site reports and other documentation during on site execution
• Ensures on-going communication with the internal project team throughout commissioning
• Inspects and tests implementation of Programmable Logic Controllers to ensure automated equipment meets project scope requirements
• Short notice travel may be required when schedule or resources are required
• Travels up to 90%
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1-5 years of material handling industry experience, preferably with distribution centers and warehouse automation
• Mechanical & electrical maintenance and/or installation experience a plus
• Basic knowledge of Allen-Bradley controls/controllers
• Basic working knowledge of CAD drawings, electrical schematics, or other engineering diagrams
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles of industrial automation
• Basic knowledge of safe industrial work practices including Lockout-Tagout and OSHA 10
• Basic problem solving skills
• Basic Computer Skills - MS Teams, Word, Excel, Email, and Video Conferencing,
• Basic administration skills (commissioning reports, timecards, and expense reports)
• Basic written and oral communication skills
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
