Mabe Steel Inc. is a structural steel erection contractor providing on-site field welding and installation services on active construction sites.

This full-time, on-site position requires lifting, climbing and working at heights with exposure to outdoor conditions and heavy equipment. The Install Welder role focuses on installing, plumb and aligning structural members and components per drawings, ensuring quality and alignment to AWS D1.1.

Qualificações

• 3+ years of structural field welding and installation experience.
• AWS D1.1 structural certification (or ability to pass a Mabe Steel weld test).
• Proficient in SMAW (stick) and FCAW (flux-core) in all positions.
• Strong blueprint reading, layout and problem-solving skills.
• Fully comfortable welding outdoors and at elevated heights in all weather.

Responsabilidades

• Install, weld and align structural members and detailed material in the field, often at elevated heights.
• Weld in all positions per drawings and AWS D1.1 requirements.
• Read and interpret erection and shop drawings; organize material for each install.
• Identify fit-up problems, drawing conflicts and errors, and bring solutions to the Foreman.
• Prepare welds for inspection and correct any rejected work.
• Follow hot-work, fire watch and fall protection requirements.

Install Welder

ABOUT MABE STEEL & CONDITIONS FOR ALL FIELD ROLES

Mabe Steel Inc. is a structural steel erection contractor. We erect steel on active construction sites; we do not fabricate. This position is full-time, on-site field work, and the conditions in this section apply to all of our field roles.

Work Environment

• Work is performed outdoors on active jobsites, in heat, cold, wind, rain and other seasonal weather.
• Work regularly takes place at elevated heights, on steel, decking, ladders, scaffolds and aerial/scissor lifts, depending on the role.
• Jobsites include cranes, forklifts, heavy equipment, overhead loads, welding operations and loud noise.
• Job locations change as projects change; reliable transportation to each assigned site is required.

Safety Expectations

• Follow all OSHA Subpart R (Steel Erection) and Mabe Steel safety rules, including 100% fall protection where required.
• Wear and maintain required PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, work boots, gloves and harness/lanyard.
• Attend daily safety meetings and jobsite orientations; report hazards, near misses and injuries immediately.

Physical Requirements

• Comfortable working at heights without fear or hesitation.
• Able to stand, walk, climb, kneel, bend and reach for full shifts, often on uneven ground or narrow surfaces.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and assist with heavier loads.
• Good balance, hand-eye coordination and ability to hear and follow verbal and hand signals.

General Requirements

• 18 years of age or older; valid driver's license preferred.
• Early starts, overtime and travel or weekend work as project schedules require.

INSTALL WELDER

Reports to: Foreman

The Install Welder is an experienced field welder who installs, plumbs and aligns the detailed material that the job's accuracy depends on. Quality comes first; precise work now speeds up the rest of the project.
