Job summary

Notre Dame Academy in Hingham, Massachusetts is seeking a full-time Visual Arts Teacher for grades 6–12, emphasizing high energy and a passion for empowering young women within a Catholic learning community.

The teacher will develop and implement a rigorous arts curriculum, manage galleries and major student art events, and support after-school art activities while collaborating with faculty to advance innovative programming.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Education, Visual Arts and/or Design; master's preferred.
Experience teaching digital media, design, graphic art, and 2D/3D.
Minimum of three years classroom instruction in middle/high school or college.
Ability to encourage and inspire student creativity.
Demonstrate knowledge of art history and various art genres to teach diverse styles.
Massachusetts teaching license progress preferred.

Responsibilities

Teach grade 6-12 Visual Arts courses, including ceramics, digital illustration, 2D and AP-2D Art.
Implement meaningful instructional methods for middle and high school.
Align curriculum and assessments with NDA curriculum maps.
Provide extra help through meetings with students and through email communications.
Lead Art Gallery, Annual Art Show, and oversee yearbook production; collaborate with staff to enrich student experiences.
Lead afterschool art-based activities including Art Club; participate in school events and initiatives.
