Job summary

JCC Greater Boston in Newton, MA is seeking enthusiastic Cooking Instructors to design and lead engaging culinary activities for campers in grades 4–8 at our summer day camp. You will translate recipes into hands-on experiences, guiding kids through cooking skills and food science while maintaining a safe, inclusive environment.

This is an hourly position from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, for an 8‑week session (June 21 – August 20).

Qualifications

• High school degree preferred.
• College degree or certification in cooking or related field preferred.
• At least 1 summer camp or similar instructor experience.
• Customer service experience is a plus.
• Experience with diverse campers and inclusive settings.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and lead age-appropriate cooking activities.
• Ensure camper safety and well-being during activities.
• Create a fun, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Collaborate with counselors and leadership for cohesive camper experiences.
• Assist with supplies, equipment, and camp operations.
• Support participation in special events.
