Job summary

Qualifications

• Certification as required by New Jersey Department of Education (Standard Certificate, CE, or CEAS) as deemed necessary.

Responsibilities

• Plans a program of study that meets the needs of students.
• Evaluates student progress and prepares reports.
• Instructs students in citizenship and basic communication skills as per district requirements.
• Delivers instruction to individuals and groups, adapting curriculum to learners.
• Maintains proper use of textbooks and instructional materials.
• Establishes and maintains classroom standards and order.
• Recommends and maintains inventory of instructional materials.
• Plans instruction time to provide a balanced program.
• Pursues professional growth through district-provided and self-initiated activities.
• Coordinates with aides and paraprofessionals as assigned.
• Communicates with parents regarding student progress.
• Maintains attendance and business records.
• Supports student activities and faculty committees.
• Collaborates interdepartmentally to relate subject areas.

Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (preferred)
