Job summary

Oak Tree School, part of Maiden Erlegh Trust, is seeking an inspirational SEN Primary Teacher to join our specialist team. You will plan engaging, personalised learning for primary pupils with SEND and work with therapists and assistants to support exceptional progress.

Qualifications

  • Qualified teacher with experience teaching primary-aged pupils.
  • Strong understanding of SEND, ASD and complex needs.
  • Able to adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Committed to inclusive education and raising aspirations.
  • Works effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiastic, reflective and committed to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning for primary-aged pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Plan engaging and personalised learning experiences reflecting individual strengths and needs.
  • Support pupils to make excellent progress academically, socially and emotionally.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists and other professionals.
  • Implement communication strategies, including AAC, to ensure all pupils can access learning.
  • Monitor, assess and track progress, contributing to EHCP reviews and targets.
  • Create a positive, safe and nurturing learning environment where pupils can develop confidence and independence.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents, carers and external agencies to secure the best outcomes for pupils.
