Responsibilities

• Prepares course objectives and outlines for course of study following curriculum guidelines and requirements of the territory and school
• Prepares materials and classroom for class activities
• Assigns lessons and corrects homework
• Administers tests to evaluate pupil progress, records results, and informs parents of progress
• Keeps attendance records and maintains student records as required by law and policy
• Maintains discipline in classroom and enforces policies
• Meets with parents/guardians to discuss progress and resource needs
• Consults with parents/guardians, other teachers and counselors to resolve problems
• Participates in faculty meetings and teacher training workshops
• Performs activities or sponsor clubs/organizations as assigned
• Establishes objectives for lessons and communicates them to students
• Adapts teaching methods to meet students' needs
• Observes and evaluates students' performance and health
• Plans activities for a balanced program of instruction
• Guides students in adjusting and academic interests
• Instructs and monitors use of equipment and materials
• Prepares class materials and demonstrates readiness upon request
• Uses technology to supplement presentations
• Collaborates with staff to improve programs
• Keeps records and reports as required by administration
• Manages supplies and inventories
• Supervises field trips and guest speaker events
• Assists in other duties as required by principal

Education
