West Chester Area School District seeks a reflective, student-centered Second Grade Teacher for a long-term substitute role (January–June 2027) at Glen Acres Elementary School. The teacher will design inclusive, rigorous lessons and foster critical thinking, collaboration, and responsible citizenship.

The ideal candidate holds a PA teaching certification, has strong classroom management, and is committed to equity-centered practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification or ability to obtain emergency certification based on district needs.
Demonstrated commitment to equity-centered teaching and continuous improvement.
Strong instructional planning, classroom management, and communication skills.

Responsabilités

Design and deliver standards-aligned instruction for second grade.
Create a classroom environment that is inclusive, supportive, and engaging for all students.
Integrate real-world applications and interdisciplinary connections.
Apply culturally responsive instructional strategies to honor student identities.
Monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction.
