Job summary

The Academy of the Holy Cross is seeking a full-time Physics Teacher to join the Science Department for the 2026–2027 academic year. The educator will primarily teach 9th-grade conceptual Physics and design engaging, project-based experiences that connect physics to everyday life.

The program may expand to advanced coursework and AP Physics; collaboration on curriculum, maker spaces, and robotics is encouraged as part of a broader STEM initiative.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in physics or a related field is required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• High school teaching experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Teach four sections of Physics, including honors, and possibly one section of another STEM course.
• Design and facilitate laboratory investigations and project-based learning experiences.
• Create a student-centered classroom environment that supports diverse learners and encourages critical thinking.
• Assess student learning through varied formative and summative methods with timely feedback.
• Collaborate with Science Department on curriculum development and interdisciplinary STEM initiatives.
• Engage with families, counselors, advising, coaching or mentorship as part of school life.
