Job summary

Hebrew Academy in Huntington Beach, CA seeks a passionate Part-Time Lower Elementary Teacher (Grades 1–3) to deliver core subjects and integrate Judaic values. The role emphasizes collaborative curriculum development, differentiating instruction, and maintaining a positive classroom community.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education (Master’s preferred), a valid teaching license, and at least 2 years of early elementary experience, with comfort using SmartBoards and Google

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education required; Master’s degree preferred.
Valid state teaching license or equivalent preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience teaching in an early elementary setting.
Cultural competence with Jewish traditions, holidays, and values; Hebrew fluency not required.
Proficiency with educational technology (SmartBoards, Google Classroom) to enhance learning.

Responsibilities

Lead differentiated lessons in reading, writing, mathematics, and science for lower elementary students.
Foster a safe, inclusive Kehillah community grounded in positive character traits.
Track student progress with formal and informal assessments and report to parents.
Collaborate with Judaic Studies faculty to connect General Studies with Jewish life and holidays.
Maintain professional communication with families about student development.
