Job summary

Riff Music School in Westminster, CO is seeking part-time Music Teachers who are vibrant, inspiring, and committed to making music engaging for students of all ages. We prioritize a song-based approach over rigid drills and welcome teachers who can share passion through performance, studio sessions, and real-world musical experiences.

Teach private, semi-private, group, and rock band lessons, plus songwriting, audio engineering, and production.

Qualifications

• Proficiency on at least one core instrument or skill (guitar, piano, drums, bass, voice, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, orchestral strings, brass, woodwind, songwriting, audio engineering, music production, band management).
• Teaching experience preferred, but not required — energy, passion, and connection matter most.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles, ages, and musical interests.
• Strong communication skills and a student-first mindset, strong organizational skills.
• A growth-oriented attitude with a desire to continue developing as a teacher and musician.

Responsibilities

• Teach private, semi-private, group, and/or rock band lessons for varying ages and skill levels.
• Inspire students by teaching through songs they love while covering fundamentals of technique, theory, and creativity.
• Support students for performances and recording opportunities built into the Riff experience.
• Create a positive, encouraging environment where students feel supported and excited to learn.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
• Contribute ideas and energy to band programs, camps, and special events when applicable.
