Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Linguistics, Education, or related required. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven written and verbal proficiency in Spanish.
• 2-3 years of previous teaching experience preferred.
• Previous experience working with middle school students.
• No teaching license or credential is required.
• Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
• Willingness to assist with school sports teams and/or extracurricular activities.

Responsibilities

• Teach several Spanish courses each semester for students in grades 7-9.
• Teach Spanish language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a variety of instructional methods.
• Create opportunities for students to practice conversational Spanish and improve pronunciation and comprehension.
• Organizing events where students can showcase their Spanish language skills.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
• Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education.
• Serve as an advisor to students, providing guidance and support to promote academic progress and student success.
