Aurora Charter School in Minneapolis is seeking a Science Teacher for grades 6-8 to create an engaging, rigorous classroom that fosters students' curiosity, critical thinking, and understanding of scientific concepts.

The teacher will plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction across life, physical, and earth sciences; design hands-on, inquiry-based labs; assess student progress; maintain records; communicate with families; and collaborate with colleagues while supporting school events.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Minnesota teaching license in Science or appropriate middle school licensure.
• Experience teaching middle school students preferred.
• Must pass a criminal background check and meet district requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver science instruction aligned with school and state standards.
• Teach core science content across life, physical, and earth/space sciences.
• Design and implement hands-on, inquiry-based labs and experiments.
• Assess student learning and adjust instruction based on data and needs.
• Maintain accurate records of progress, attendance and assessments.
• Communicate effectively with students and families and encourage engagement.
• Collaborate with colleagues across grade levels and content areas.
• Participate in professional development and school committees.
• Support school events such as conferences and curriculum nights.
