Job summary

Oakland Leaf Foundation in Oakland, CA seeks a Middle School Program Instructor to lead engaging, youth-centered activities for 6th–8th graders after school, delivering developmentally appropriate curriculum in a warm, inclusive environment.

You will build authentic relationships, support social-emotional growth, maintain safety, and contribute to a positive site culture while collaborating with a site team and families.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience working with youth in any setting is preferred.
• Experience with middle school or adolescent populations is strongly preferred.
• Ability to build authentic relationships with youth and maintain boundaries with warmth.

Responsibilities

• Deliver developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive activities for 6th–8th graders.
• Build authentic relationships and support students' social-emotional development.
• Maintain active supervision and follow safety protocols throughout the program day.
• Support site operations, transitions, and communication with families and staff.
