Job summary

School City of Hammond is seeking a qualified teacher to plan, deliver, and assess instruction across grade levels. You will guide students through developmentally appropriate curriculum and maintain an engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Must hold valid Indiana State Teacher's License or be eligible for a license for corresponding age/grade level.
• 2 years of teaching experience.
• Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships effectively and professionally with families and students.
• Experience developing and implementing curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Develop curriculum to meet developmental goals and instructional activities.
• Post syllabus, projects/lessons, and grades to the server accessible to students, parents, and the community.
• Maintain a classroom environment consistent with codes of conduct and conducive to positive learning.
• Use rubric-based authentic assessment methods to evaluate student progress and adapt programs.
• Communicate with families, co-workers, supervisors, and staff about student progress, attendance, and behavior.
• Provide progress reports on student achievements as required.
• Communicate electronically with students, parents, and staff about progress and behavior.
• Attend conferences/workshops to advance professional development.
• Work with other personnel to improve instructional programs and school operations.
• Provide a safe, thriving environment for all students in classroom and campus.
