Job summary

Richland County School District One is seeking an hourly Middle School Teacher to plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess student progress, and maintain classrooms in a supportive learning environment. The role reports to the Principal and requires SC certification or eligibility.

Responsibilities include planning units, grading, parent communication, and participation in staff activities. The position involves caring for students with diverse needs and upholding school policies and safety

Qualifications

• Valid South Carolina teaching certificate or eligibility in the appropriate certified area.
• Experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plans a program of study that meets the needs, interests and abilities of students.
• May teach multiple disciplines as assigned.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Plans and prepares lesson plans and related activities for individual students or assigned classes.
• Guides the learning process toward achievement of curriculum goals; establishes clear objectives for all lessons and communicates these objectives to students.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media.
• Grades work completed by students; maintains records of test scores/grades.
• Assesses student progress and provides progress reports as required.
• Maintains positive relationships with parents; schedules and conducts parent-teacher conferences.
