Job summary

Leavenworth Middle School is seeking a Middle School Music Teacher (Vocal) to develop students’ understanding and appreciation of music across genres and styles. You will identify, promote, and develop vocal and instrumental talents while organizing rehearsals and performances.

The role requires knowledge of current teaching methods, ability to teach singing and instruments, and a commitment to professional growth and parental communication.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of current teaching methods and pedagogy; differentiated instruction.
• Ability to play an instrument or instruments; conduct students in playing instruments as needed.
• Ability to instruct students in singing, harmonization, and chorus as needed.
• Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers music education curriculum aligned with district goals.
• Promotes a safe classroom environment conducive to instruction and learning.
• Plans and coordinates rehearsals; directs students in musical programs and performances outside the classroom.
• Engages in ongoing professional learning through seminars, workshops, or research.
• Maintains accurate records of student activities, achievement and attendance.
