Qualifications

• California teaching credential required.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Master’s degree in subject matter field or Education strongly preferred.
• Meet all NCLB requirements.
• Job may involve lifting, walking, sitting and standing for periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Develops lesson plans according to the CA CCSS and CA State Content Standards.
• Fosters a safe and nurturing learning environment.
• Organizes classroom system/procedures and manages student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged in learning.
• Establishes an environment where students are excited about learning.
• Builds strong relationships with students and parents.
• Identifies student areas for improvement and works with student, family and resources to suggest options for improvement.
• Provides continual assessment of student progress, maintains student records and completes paperwork in provided timeframes.
• Collaborates with the Educational specialist and other staff to meet the needs of all students.
• Attends and implements professional development training throughout and beyond the school year.
• Demonstrates support and knowledge of school’s goals and mission.
• Participates, attends and plans field trips.
• Participates in school events during, before and after school.
• Attends and participates in school based meetings and activities.
