Job summary

Journey Community Schools in Tennessee seeks a dedicated K-8 teacher who will deliver high-quality instruction in a small school setting where every student is known and valued as an individual.

You will plan, implement, and assess instructional activities to meet diverse needs, align with state standards, and support student growth. Collaboration with families and ongoing professional development are emphasized to advance teaching practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
• Master’s Degree preferred
• Valid teaching license and endorsement in English/Language Arts with Tennessee or reciprocity state

Responsibilities

• Establish a culture of high expectations for all scholars and teams
• Design and implement lesson plans aligned with Tennessee State Standards
• Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments
• Provide timely feedback to support student growth
• Communicate regularly with families as partners in education
• Adapt materials to meet diverse learning styles and abilities
• Participate in professional development to improve teaching practices
• Deliver engaging instruction using varied strategies to foster critical thinking and creativity
• Maintain a positive classroom environment and professional conduct
