Job summary

Omaha Public Schools is seeking a Head Coach, Middle School for the 2026-27 school year. The successful candidate will lead practices, coordinate with the Athletic Director, and ensure compliance with NSAA rules while promoting student-athlete safety and growth.

This position requires Nebraska Department of Education certification or a Special Services coaching endorsement, and the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and families to support a positive athletics program.

Qualifications

• Coaching certification as required by NSAA/NDE
• Current teaching or administrative certificate through the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) or Special Services Certification with coaching endorsement
• Ability to coordinate with athletic director and district staff

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and well-being of student participants.
• Plan, schedule, and supervise practices and competitions.
• Support learning expectations and monitor student academic performance.
• Maintain high conduct standards and represent the district positively.
• Collaborate with athletic director to implement approved athletic plans.
