The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in middle-school ELA, with strong collaboration and communication skills, and a commitment to professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Degree in Education, English, English Language Arts, Literature, or a related field preferred.
• Teaching certificate preferred.
• Minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience required.
• Demonstrated experience teaching English Language Arts at the middle-school level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver comprehensive English Language Arts lessons aligned with middle school learning objectives.
• Use varied instructional methods to make learning meaningful and accessible.
• Provide differentiated instruction based on students’ needs and levels.
• Create and distribute age-appropriate instructional content and assessments.
• Guide students in analyzing texts, identifying themes, and interpreting author’s purpose.
• Develop students’ writing across narrative, informative, analytical, and argumentative forms.
• Strengthen grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and conventions.
• Facilitate classroom discussions and promote evidence-based reasoning.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback and support.
• Collaborate with families and school staff to support student success.
• Maintain accurate records and follow school policies.
