Newton ISD is seeking an experienced HS Science Teacher to provide advanced science instruction. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and a valid teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements. You will develop engaging lessons, assess student progress, and collaborate with staff to support student growth.

The teacher will maintain high expectations, manage classroom behavior, and participate in campus duties and staff development. This position is on-site and aligned with district policies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• One year student teaching or approved internship

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement lesson plans that reflect district curriculum and accommodations for differences
• Plan instructional strategies and materials reflecting learning styles and needs
• Assess student learning styles and use results to plan activities
• Modify curricula with special education staff per IEPs
• Collaborate with staff to determine goals, objectives, and methods
• Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement
• Supervise extracurricular activities as assigned
• Be a positive role model and support the school district’s mission
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning
• Manage student behavior per Student Code of Conduct
• Protect students, equipment, and materials
• Assist in selecting books and materials
• Maintain records and reports
• Communicate with parents, students, colleagues, and community
• Participate in staff development
• Comply with regulations and policies
• Attend faculty meetings and serve on committees
