Job summary

Calvert County Public Schools seeks a High School Science Teacher – Physics for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher will plan and provide learning experiences, maintain a safe and engaging classroom, monitor student progress, and communicate regularly with students, families and staff.

Qualifications include Maryland certification eligibility and the ability to adapt instructional plans to meet diverse student needs. Tenure and salary are determined by the district schedule.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for Maryland certification (Professional or Advanced).
• Maryland Conditional Degree Certificate per COMAR may apply.

Responsibilities

• Plans and provides learning experiences for students.
• Maintains classroom environment conducive to learning and safety.
• Monitors and evaluates student outcomes.
• Communicates with students, parents, staff and community.
• Develops and modifies instructional plans aligned to curricula.
• Supervises students and coordinates with instructional assistants/volunteers.
