Norman Public Schools seeks a 26-27 Norman High School English Teacher (Grades 9-12) beginning January 2027. The teacher will develop and deliver English instruction, assess student progress, and support literacy and writing across the curriculum.

The role requires Oklahoma teaching certification and a bachelor's in education; a master's degree is preferred. Reports to the Building Principal and serves in a 182-day contract schedule.

Qualifikationen

• Current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with endorsements for the appropriate level/subject area.
• Bachelor's from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• Oklahoma State Certification as an English Education Teacher.
• Successful prior teaching experiences in English a plus.

Aufgaben

• Develops and administers English education curriculum aligned with district goals.
• Maintains a safe classroom conducive to instruction and learning.
• Plans lessons and materials to maximize time for learning.
• Teaches English grammar, syntax, composition, vocabulary, and literature.
• Promotes critical analysis through group discussions on varied reading materials.
• Coordinates with staff and participates in meetings and committees.
• Maintains records of grading, attendance and communication with parents.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.
