Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom work to provide instructional materials addressing individualized learning plans.
• Administer developmental testing programs and assessments to gauge progress.
• Advise parents on student progress and improvement methods.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and administration.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, parents, and community resources to improve outcomes.
• Coordinate activities (field trips, transportation, etc.) to ensure resources are available.
• Direct assistants, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers and student workers.
• Instruct students to improve academic, interpersonal and daily living skills.
• Manage student behavior to maintain a safe, productive learning environment.
• Monitor students across settings (classroom, playground, field trips, etc.).
• Participate in meetings to share information and help perform duties.
• Prepare written records (grades, attendance, anecdotes) for mandated requirements.
• Report incidents to maintain student safety and comply with policies.
