Job summary

Geary County USD 475 is seeking an Elementary Special Education Teacher (K-5) to lead the development and implementation of specialized instructional programs for students receiving exceptional services. The teacher will collaborate with building principals and ESS leadership to support inclusive practices.

Qualified candidates hold a Kansas Teaching Certificate with SPED endorsement and a health certificate; 3–5 years teaching experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Current Kansas Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement appropriate to the assignment on file in the Devin Center
• Health certificate on file in Devin Center
• 3-5 years teaching experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation and implementation of a specialized designed instructional program for students in ESS services
• Maintain records and communicate with families and staff
• Collaborate with building staff to ensure IEP goals are met
• Coordinate scheduling and supervision of paraprofessionals as needed
• Ensure compliance with state and district regulations governing special education
