Responsibilities

Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order in the classroom.
Observe and evaluate students' performance and behavior.
Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
Adapt teaching methods to meet students' varying needs.
Plan activities for a balanced program of instruction and demonstrations.
Instruct students individually and in groups using varied methods.
Communicate lesson objectives to students.
Assign and grade class work and homework.
Read books to classes or groups.
Prepare, administer, and grade tests to evaluate progress.
Confer with parents/guardians and colleagues to support students.
