Job summary

Bedford Public Schools seeks a passionate and qualified Spanish Teacher for a one-year assignment to teach one section of 8th grade Spanish in Bedford, MA. The ideal candidate will inspire students, be familiar with ACTFL standards, and differentiate instruction for diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or related field.
• MA teaching certification in Spanish.
• Proven experience teaching Spanish at the secondary level.
• Fluency in Spanish and appreciation for Spanish-speaking cultures.
• Strong classroom management and ability to differentiate instruction.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (C.O.R.I.) and a National Criminal Background Check including fingerprinting.
• SEI Endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver dynamic lessons for 8th grade Spanish across proficiency levels.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment encouraging participation.
• Assess learning through exams, quizzes, projects with timely feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of progress and attendance.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum across grade levels and disciplines.
• Communicate with parents about progress and expectations.
• Stay current with developments in Spanish language instruction and education, attending professional development workshops and conferences as needed.
